I’m your knight in shining armor. I’m here to save you from Linkin Park.
50 Favourite People ● Woody Allen
I’ve often said, the only thing standing between me and greatness is me.
50 Favourite People ● Jose Mourinho
It’s like having a blanket that is too small for the bed. You pull the blanket up to keep your chest warm and your feet stick out. I cannot buy a bigger blanket because the supermarket is closed. But the blanket is made of cashmere! It is no ordinary blanket.
50 Favourite People ● Debbie Harry
I don’t mind if my skull ends up on a shelf as long as it’s got my name on it.
50 Favourite People ● Joseph Gordon-Levitt
The whole concept of celebrity pisses me off. While I’m not a celebrity, it’s such a weird concept that society has cooked up for us. Astronauts and teachers are much more amazing than actors.
50 Favourite People ● Al Pacino
When I try to explain anything I always end up trying to be right usually, but not truthful necessarily. Trying to give the right answer or what I think is the right answer. It’s a human instinct. You try to be as clever as you can be. You’re trying to come off like you really know what the hell’s going on, when you don’t!
50 Favourite People ● David Bowie
I re-invented my image so many times that I’m in denial that I was originally an overweight Korean woman.
50 Favourite People ● M.I.A.
I wanted to kill the most amazing person in the world, but then I realized that suicide was a crime.
50 Favourite People ● Sufjan Stevens
I think it’s who we are as human beings, storytellers. We speak anecdotally. People love to talk about themselves and about their lives and about their day, and everything has a narrative interest to it. That said, I think music is a supernatural kind of abstract form that transcends all of that. There is nothing more incredible and moving and appealing than good music, and it cannot always be reduced to a story, to exposition. It’s so much more abstract and brilliant.
50 Favourite People ● Michael Sheen
I think your successes depend on your failures. In a way, whether something succeeds or fails doesn’t matter at all - the point is that you strive, that you take risks, and that you challenge yourself. By doing so, inevitably some of those risks are going to pay off, and some of them are going to turn into what would be considered failures. But when you look back it’s very hard to disentangle the successes from the failures. It’s all a process.
50 Favourite People ● Ryan Giggs
I can’t get my head around the fact that the young players look at me the same way I used to look at Robbo [Bryan Robson] and Brucey [Steve Bruce]. I don’t feel I’m that old yet. I often forget that everyone is younger than me because in my head I still think I’m about 25.
